TRAGEDY TO COMEDY CONVERSION CHART by Doogie Horner
They say that comedy equals tragedy plus time. We aren’t clear on who originally said that, but we’re pretty sure they were famous. Anyway, here, comedian Doogie Horner has created a handy TRAGEDY TO COMEDY CONVERSION CHART that will help you make people think, cry, and maybe even laugh.

the quote is actually “tragedy plus time equals comedy”. it means audiences will let you make fun of anything if you wait long enough. it does not mean that all comedy is rooted in tragedy, or that all tragedies are eventually funny.

I think the Hundred Years War is funnier than the War of 1812. Personally.

I heard Jack Black is starring in a movie about the War of 1812. The one joke is, in every scene, he keeps asking people what year it is. Like he’ll go to sign a check, and then ask the soldiers around him “What year is it?” and then one of their heads will get blown of with a cannon ball.
